To do or not to do? Ethical Issues in Cross-Cultural Assessment (January 19th | 3 Hours, 3 CEs): In partnership with the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) This program will describe possible ethical dilemmas that may arise when conducting cross-cultural assessments and ways to manage these. Through case studies, attendees will learn various ways to manage ethical issues. Participants will benefit from a discussion of race-based norms in assessment, learn alternative strategies, and understand the nuances of telehealth services.
Behavioral Health Aspects of Insomnia (February 1st | 1 Hour, 1 CE): Insomnia impacts millions of individuals every year. Even higher rates of insomnia impact clients receiving services from behavioral health providers. Designed for professionals, this training introduces participants to the causes, consequences, and red flag indicators of insomnia among behavioral health populations.
Sickness Behavior (February 10th | 3 Hours, 3 CEs):Intended for professionals, this training is designed to increase awareness of sickness behavior, including its implications for screening and intervention through a behavioral health lens. > Early registration discount through January 27th.
Insomnia may be a symptom of a mental disorder or the standalone reason a client ventures into therapy for their sleep health. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a combination of evidence-based interventions to alleviate an individual’s troubles with sleep. CBT-I explicitly targets the demographic of individuals who face difficulties with falling asleep and maintaining their sleep, offering an alternative to pharmacological approaches to insomnia.
